Street racing possibly involved in fatal Labor Day weekend crash

Over Labor Day weekend, a terrible car accident in Orlando, Florida claimed the life of one person and left at least one other person with life-threatening injuries. The police have investigated the crash and recently announced that speeding was involved in the crash, though they are not sure if the two vehicles that were engaged in this reckless driving act were street racing.

The wreck involved five vehicles in total, even though it appears that the two speeding vehicles are the main culprits. One person was killed, one person suffered life-threatening injuries, and another person was injured in some other capacity. One of the victims was struck by a car after getting out of one of the wrecked vehicles.

The police will continue to investigate as they look at the street racing aspect of this crash, but ultimately this is another car crash that simply didn't need to happen. It's outrageous how many completely preventable car accidents occur across this country every day, every week and every year. Speeding, drunk driving, texting while driving -- these are all actions that should simply never be done, and yet they keep happening.

And that's the frustrating part. These negligent driving acts won't stop anytime soon, and even if self-driving cars end up being the saviors they are hailed as, there will still be situations where they have to be manually driven. When a driver causes an accident because he or she was negligent, and the victims of that accident suffer harm, those victims need to strongly consider legal action to not only hold the person responsible for what they did, but to help themselves pay for things like property damage and medical costs.
